Meet the Doctor

Dr. Melody Lu earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from UBC. She moved to Vancouver from Shanghai, China at the age of 14, and has called the city home ever since. Before pursuing dentistry, Dr. Lu worked at BC Cancer Research, where she was involved in studying fetal DNA in the maternal bloodstream—an experience that strengthened her scientific foundation and attention to detail.

Dr. Lu enjoys the hands-on nature of dentistry and values the opportunity to connect with her patients. She believes that clear communication and patient education are essential to achieving and maintaining good oral health, and she takes the time to ensure her patients feel informed and confident in their care.

She is dedicated to giving back to the community and currently volunteers at the Vancouver Aboriginal Health Society Dental Clinic, helping provide dental care to underserved populations.

Dr. Lu offers a full range of general dental services and is committed to ongoing learning to better serve her patients. She has completed the RV Tucker Gold Study Course, is a member of the BITES Dental Implant Institute, and is a certified Invisalign provider. She has also received training in the use of Botox for the management of temporomandibular (TMJ) pain.

Dr. Lu is fluent in Mandarin and Shanghainese.
